Description

Series Overview: What are the most important technology skills adult students (and teachers) need to develop in preparation to take the TASC on a computer and for career and post-secondary success? What are some ways the practice of these skills can be integrated into existing instruction? This four-part series on digital literacy and computer-based testing skills will explore these questions and some promising answers. Participants will spend time learning about tools and methods they can use with their students, develop a plan on how to integrate what they have learned, and then take time to try out their plans before a final face-to-face workshop in which participants will report back on their experiences so we can learn from each other’s challenges and success.

Session 4: Knowledge Share

In this session, participants will share what Digital Literacy work they have been doing over the course of the series. We will also do some hands-on work with Google Forms, Google Keep, and YouTube Playlists. We will review how these three tools can be used with students and for teacher’s personal/professional work.

All three of these tools do require a Google account so please make sure to sign up for a Google account before you arrive on Friday. If you have questions about creating a Google Account you can contact Nell Eckersley at NellE@lacnyc.org .We will provide Chromebooks to use but you are welcome to bring your own device. You should have the Chrome browser installed on your device to use it in the session.
